Deus Ex Remastered No Longer Releasing In February 2026 Due To Negative Feedback

Update []: Aspyr has returned today to announce that Deus Ex Remastered will no longer be releasing in February 2026 and has now been delayed indefinitely.

This follows a negative reaction to the game’s trailer, with many of the top-voted comments being of a critical nature in regards to the visuals.

You can check out Aspyr’s full statement below:

Original Story: Well here’s a nice surprise from the September 2025 State of Play event!

Aspyr has announced that it’s remastering the original Deus Ex from 2000 in the form of Deus Ex Remastered, and it’s bringing a bunch of visual improvements including new lighting, dynamic shadows, upscaled textures and more.

Beyond that, it’ll feature rebuilt character models, lip-synced dialogue, ragdoll physics, and a control scheme that’s been optimised for the modern day, meaning refined radial menus, fluid weapon management and streamlined navigation.

Here’s a bit more about the game itself:

“Deus Ex has always been about freedom. When the original title first launched, it redefined what a video game could be, melding RPG elements, action and stealth gameplay, and branching player choices into a cyberpunk immersive sim like nobody else had ever tried. Storm through the front door, hack the security grid, slip past enemies with invisibility cloaks, or talk your way through impossible odds. Every mission, every level, and every outcome adapts to your choices. Today, those foundations remain intact, but they’ve been enhanced to ensure the experience feels as revolutionary in 2025 as it did in 2000.”

Deus Ex Remastered will be available for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on February 5th, 2026, and pre-orders are now available on the Xbox Store for £24.99 / $29.99. We’ll leave you with a few screenshots down below.
