Shift Up Now Hiring For Stellar Blade’s ‘Next Work’ With Multiple Jobs Including Screenwriter & Monster Battle Designer

Shift Up, the developer behind the critically acclaimed Stellar Blade, has revealed it has multiple job openings for what it describes as “Stellar Blade’s next work,” which is presumably a sequel.

Among the positions for hire include level designer, screenwriter, monster battle designer, technical artist, engine programmer, and 3D background artist among others. Notably, some of these positions have a period of 8-10 years attributed to them, suggesting whatever the ‘next work’ is could involve multiple, long-term projects.

While concrete details on Stellar Blade 2 are being kept under wraps, Shift Up has not been shy about its intention to develop the sequel, and stated back in September that the new game is set to “inherit the action-packed nature of the original Stellar Blade while incorporating an expanded worldview and enhanced gameplay.”

Stellar Blade was released for the PS5 in April 2024 and hit the PC in June 2025. On Steam, Stellar Blade achieved more than 100,000 concurrent users, making it one of the most successful PlayStation to PC ports released to date. Shift Up announced back in June that the game has sold more than three million copies across both formats.
