Resident Evil Requiem Preorders Are Kicking Off On October 29; Capcom To Celebrate Franchise In New Video
Capcom announced at New York Comic-Con over the weekend that Resident Evil Requiem preorders will open on October 29, 2025, at which point the studio will release a new video that celebrates the franchise as it approaches its 30th anniversary.
Resident Evil Requiem is the next mainline instalment in the long-running survival horror franchise, and is set around 30 years after the destruction of Raccoon City, as depicted in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis and its remake. The game will see players controlling FBI agent Grace Ashcroft, daughter of Alyssa from Resident Evil Outbreak, who investigates a series of grisly murders in the same location her mother was killed years before.

Capcom is offering players the choice of selecting a first or third-person perspective for Resident Evil Requiem, and a recent interview with the game’s director revealed that western gamers are most likely to choose the first-person due to growing up with shooters such as DOOM. Meanwhile, Capcom has also said that he wants to test players’ wits with Resident Evil Requiem’s boss fights, as opposed to your shooting skills.
Resident Evil Requiem is set for release on February 27, 2026 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
