Call Of Duty Black Ops 7 Early Access Beta Records Disappointing Figures On Steam & Twitch
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is due out in November 2025, but users have a chance to take Activision’s upcoming shooter for a spin in the early access beta. From the look of things however, figures for the beta aren’t exactly all that encouraging on two platforms, namely Steam and Twitch.
For Steam, the latest entry in the multi-million selling first-person shooter franchise recorded a 24-hour peak of under 75,000 users, which doesn’t compare favourably to Battlefield 6’s early access beta during the same time, which hit 335,000 users. Meanwhile, Black Ops 7 saw 185,000 viewers on Twitch at the time of publishing, far below the 504,000 viewers recorded by EA’s shooter during the game time period.

How the game will perform following its actual release is still anyone’s guess, although this year is quite a major event as it’ll see Black Ops 7 going up against Battlefield 6, which has been seriously impressing following its formal reveal earlier this year. Mike Ybarra, the former president of Blizzard, has said that he feels EA’s shooter will ‘boot stomp’ Black Ops 7, although Activision is reportedly not too concerned about its rival as it feels Call of Duty is simply ‘too big to fail.’
Treyarch has admitted that it is a bit concerned about franchise fatigue with Black Ops 7, given that it’s arriving on the market just a year after its predecessor. Traditionally, Call of Duty rotates between the Modern Warfare and Black Ops series, sometimes taking extended breaks as we’ve seen the likes of Call of Duty: Ghosts and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and Call of Duty: WWII plug the gaps.
Call Of Duty Black OPs 7 is pencilled in for release on November 14, 2025 on PC and consoles.
