Metapod | Pokémon guide
While the Pokémon Metapod may not do much, we’re sure it’s someone’s favorite. It comes after the cute Caterpie, and is known as the Cocoon Pokémon due to it being the mid-stage of an insect evolutionary line, where, much like real life, the caterpillar turns into goo inside a pod before emerging as a beautiful butterfly. Or, Butterfree, we should say.
Introduced in Gen 1, Metapod has been a mainstay of most Pokémon games. Its evolution line is the first introduction of bug Pokémon in the Pokédex, and one of the most realistic, if you’re into that.

Metapod’s evolution
Your Caterpie will evolve into Metapod at level seven. It then evolves into Butterfree at level ten. You don’t have to do anything special here; simply level it up, and it shall blossom into a butterfly.

Metapod’s base stats
Metapod’s base stats are as follows:

As you level Metapod up, these stats will naturally increase.
Metapod’s type strengths and weaknesses
Each and every Pokémon we meet in the world has strengths and weaknesses. Metapod is not immune to anything, but is resistant to Fighting, Grass, and Ground moves. Be careful using it against other types, especially Fire, Flying, and Rock, as it takes double damage from these.
