Marathon Is Reportedly Not At State Of Play Tomorrow, Unlikely To Rear Its Head Until November At Earliest
Bungie will not be showcasing Marathon during tomorrow’s State of Play event, according to a report by Forbes.
A source close to the publication reveals that not only will Marathon not be showing its face at Sony’s event, but we may not see the game until November at the very earliest. Forbes was quick to note that ‘no Marathon at State of Play’ means just that: nothing; no release date, teaser, or anything.

In case you haven’t been keeping up with Bungie’s latest project, Marathon was originally scheduled to ship in September 2025, but was delayed back in June to an undisclosed date. Sony later chimed in on the game’s launch plans back in August, where it said Marathon is planned to arrive by March 2026.
Marathon sees players working as crews of three as they comb the lost colony on Tau Ceti IV for powerful weapons and equipment, battling against AI security forces, otherworldly foes, and rival Runner teams also competing for loot. However, while death is pretty much a given in this cut-throat world, you’ll return to keep everything you previously scavenged, allowing you to grow in power and fill your vault during matches.
Marathon is in development for PS5 and PC with a release date yet to be announced.
