Bella Ramsey Addresses The Last Of Us Season 2 Criticism: ‘If You Hate It That Much, The Game Exists’
HBO’s The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey has addressed criticism of the show’s second season during a chat with The Awardist podcast, suggesting that those who didn’t enjoy it should simply play the game.
Ramsey revealed that they attempted to distance themselves from online criticism as best as possible, and while respecting other people’s opinions, Ramsey noted that the criticism wouldn’t affect the show in any way and therefore didn’t engage with it.
I tried to steer clear as much as I could, to be honest. Because there’s nothing I can do about it anyway. The show is out. There’s nothing that can be changed or altered. So I’m like, there’s not really any point in reading or looking at anything. People are of course entitled to their opinions. But it doesn’t affect the show, it doesn’t affect how the show continues or anything in any way. They’re very separate things to me. So no, I just don’t really engage.

When quizzed what Ramsey would tell Season 2’s loudest critics ahead of the third series of The Last of Us, the actor offered: I would say, you don’t have to watch it. If you hate it that much, the game exists. You can just play the game again. You don’t have to watch it, but if you do want to watch it, then I hope you enjoy it.”
Actress Isabela Merced has stated that production on The Last of Us Season 2 should kick off next year, and showrunner Craig Mazin has stated that he feels the show requires four seasons to tell the whole story. Recently, Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann revealed that he has decided to step away from his involvement in the show to focus on the company’s upcoming projects.
