The artist formerly known as Resident Evil 9, Resident Evil Requiem looks set to redefine everybody’s favourite survival horror franchise when it releases on PS5 early in 2026. Resident Evil Requiem is looking like the real deal, make no mistake.
Upcoming PS5 Games 2026 – Grand Theft Auto VI
- Release date – May 26, 2026
- Genre: Open World Adventure
- Developer: Rockstar Games
There will be no bigger title in 2026, or probably for the rest of the decade, than Grand Theft Auto 6, of this you can be assured. The first title since Rockstar Games gave us the previous game of the decade (sorry, but it was) in Red Dead Redemption 2 back in 2018, Grand Theft Auto 6 looks to build on the tremendously sound technical foundations of that title by offering up what looks to be the most immersive open world adventure perhaps of all-time. Grand Theft Auto 6 introduces dual protagonists in Lucia and Jason who in a Bonnie & Clyde style dynamic, find themselves on a vengeful tear through the Miami-inspired Vice City. Wherever you are, whatever you do, you won’t want to miss Grand Theft Auto 6.
Upcoming PS5 Games 2026 – Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra
- Release date – TBA 2026
- Genre: Action Adventure
- Developer: Skydance Interactive
The next title from Uncharted director Amy Hennig, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra whisks players back to the era of the Second World War where players take control of both Steve ‘Captain America’ Roger’s and the Black Panther as they attempt to take down the shadowy organisation Hydra in a massive, big budget, spectacle-stuffed Unreal Engine 5 powered open-world adventure. Beyond the superlative Spider-Man games from Insomniac, Marvel has long needed a win in the video games space and Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra could very well be it.
Upcoming PS5 Games 2026 – Directive 8020
- Release date – TBA 2026
- Genre: Horror
- Developer: Supermassive Games
The latest entry in Supermassive Games horror series The Dark Pictures Anthology, Directive 8020 puts actress Lashana Lynch front and centre in a sci-fi horror outing that looks set to rattle nerves. Cast as the Lashana Lynch voiced and motion-captured Brianna Young, Directive 8020 has players trying to escape an horrific planet known as Tau Ceti f and return to Earth. Filled to the brim with cinematic flair, gnarly horror and non-linear choice, Directive 8020 is set to be a highlight of The Dark Pictures Anthology for horror fiends everywhere when it releases in 2026.
Upcoming PS5 Games 2026 – Saros
- Release date – TBA 2026
- Genre: Roguelike Shooter
- Developer: Housemarque
After the rousing critical success of Returnal, a superb roguelike third-person shooter that was as visually beguiling as it was satisfying to play, Housemarque are back at it again with Saros, a new offering that the studio says will evolve the roguelike experience. Casting players as Arjun Devraj, a powerful Soltari Enforcer (played by Rahul Kohli – he of Midnight Mass fame) who must track down a missing loved one, Saros pits Arjun against extraordinarily powerful fiery foes on the alien planet of Carcosa in a gameplay-first, emotional tale that looks set to offer up the best title to ever emerge from the Housemarque vaults. Interestingly with Saros, Housemarque are keen to make each run feel incrementally empowering, allowing players to permanently upgrade their skills and gears as they tackle a world that changes with every run.
