Cody Rhodes Is Your New WWE Undisputed Champion

Cody Rhodes is once again the Undisputed WWE Champion after defeating John Cena in a brutal street fight that headlined night two of SummerSlam 2025. The main event was a chaotic clash filled with finishers, weapon shots, and even moments where Rhodes flirted with a heel turn.

The decisive moment came when Rhodes countered a top-rope Attitude Adjustment, slipping out and hitting a Cody Cutter through a table. He followed up with a Cross Rhodes to seal the win.

Following the match, Cena handed the championship to Rhodes, embraced him, and raised his hand. In return, Rhodes pulled Cena back into the spotlight, lifting his arm as fans erupted in a “THANK YOU CENA” chant to mark what is expected to be Cena’s final SummerSlam appearance.

The victory begins Rhodes’ second reign as Undisputed Champion and ends Cena’s 105-day run, which began when he defeated Rhodes at WrestleMania 41.

Following the match, Brock Lesnar made his shocking comeback, targeting John Cena. Once Rhodes exited the arena, Lesnar emerged, stalked around the ring, then entered and laid out Cena with a devastating F5.

This marks Lesnar’s first WWE appearance since SummerSlam 2023. He had been absent from television for over a year, with a rumored Royal Rumble return in 2024 never materializing. Lesnar’s name surfaced earlier this year in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon, and he had remained off WWE programming until now.
