Sucker Punch Confirms It Has Replaced The Stance System With Weapons For Ghost Of Yotei Combat

Sucker Punch Productions has revealed during an interview with GamesRadar that it has given the boot to the stance system seen in Ghost of Tsushima for the upcoming Ghost of Yotei, with its combat system instead featuring new weapon additions.

With Yotei, we’ve added a lot more layers to create a more improvisational feel to the combat. It’s deep! We’ve replaced the stance system with weapons – in fact, we added a fifth [weapon] – and these weapons are more than a simple visual replacement.

Fox expanded on this by stating players will be able to use a spear to send enemies hurtling, or knock a weapon out of their adversary’s hands using a handy disarm mechanic. You can also take on multiple foes at once with the kusarigama, a type of blade-on-a-chain.
