Developer 1-Up Studio reveals their work on Donkey Kong Bananza and Mario Kart World

1-Up Studio has been a reliable development partner for Nintendo for a while now. In the past, they’ve done work on Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, Super Mario Odyssey, and Ring Fit Adventure, to name a few. Now, we’ve learned that that partnership is continuing onto the Switch 2.

A recent update to 1-Up’s web site reveals that both Donkey Kong Bananza and Mario Kart World have been added to their portfolio. For Bananza their responsibilities are listed as “Design, level design, programming, part of the sound”. For Mario Kart World their responsibilities are listed as “Part of the design”.

We don’t know exactly which areas of the games 1-Up Studio worked on, but it’s clear now that they had a hand in both. It seems like they had a particular influence on Donkey Kong Bananza. We’ll see where they turn up next, but this far into the Switch 2 lifespan it looks like they’re doing work on some major Nintendo titles.
