Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater Support Studio Virtuos Confirms Company Restructure Following Layoff Rumours
Virtuos, the studio that is working alongside Konami on Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater and the developer on The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, has revealed that it is undergoing a company “restructure,” and as such is laying off a number of staff.
Speaking in a statement to Eurogamer, Virtuos revealed that the job losses impacted about 7% of its workforce “primarily in teams facing lower occupancy and slower demand to structural shifts in the industry.” 200 roles in Asia have been affected by the layoffs, with 70 in Europe also laid off, less than 10 of which were in France “where the core team working on Oblivion Remastered” is located.
