Air Combat 22 Confirmed For Home Release With New Arcade Archives Release For PS5, PS4
1995’s classic flight combat title Air Combat 22 is getting the re-release treatment from Hamster Corporation via its Arcade Archives series, with the retro arcade title hitting PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S in the form of Arcade Archives 2 Air Combat 22.
Arcade Archives Air Combat 22 is also coming to PS4 and Nintendo Switch, and you’ll be entitled to a $2.99 upgrade to the PS5 edition of the game. No release date has been announced yet.
This home conversion of the classic title will feature the Original Mode, High Score Mode, and Caravan Mode, plus the Arcade Archives 2 series extras including Time Attack Mode and Network Mode. You can also customise your experience with difficulty settings and inject a bit of nostalgia by going for a CTR TV makeover .

Elsewhere, Arcade Archives 2 Air Combat 22 implements multiple save slots, a rewind feature, and a quick start option for diving straight into the action. In addition, to enhance the original arcade game’s experience for users, the developer has also added VRR support.
Air Combat 22 launched in Japan in March 1995 and was powered by Namco’s Super System 22 hardware (hence its title), and allows players to pilot one of three aircraft — Grumman F-14 Tomcat, Sukhoi Su-27, and Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor.
