What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 14-15)

Welcome to another weekend! Over here at PX HQ we’re still recovering from all of last weekend’s Xbox Games Showcase madness, so we’re definitely keen to squeeze in a bit more gaming time this Saturday and Sunday.

Here’s what we’re playing this weekend:

As you may have guessed already, I can’t see myself playing much other than Gears of War: Reloaded multiplayer this weekend. The game’s first beta period is now well underway, and it’s probably going to take me the next few days to get back into the swing of Gears multiplayer. Now, where did I put that Gnasher?

If I get any gaming time in beyond the Gears Reloaded beta, I might dip back into Hogwarts Legacy. As part of my recent feature on the Final Fantasy 16 demo, I mentioned how I got certain Harry Potter vibes from it, and that’s making me want to jump back into the 2023 RPG. I haven’t committed to buying FF16 just yet even if I want to, so Hogwarts may have to fill in that gap for now.

What an exhausting two weeks it’s been! Now that showcase season is over, I’m hoping I can find more time for Xbox games over the next couple of days, and I’m actually tempted to see what MindsEye is like. Yeah, I know it’s getting bad reviews, but it might be worth a try for some “hands on” Pure Xbox impressions, right?

Beyond that, I’m in the mood for some WWE 2K25 and maybe Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 over the weekend. I haven’t played the latter in a while, but I’ve loved my time with it so far. I might have to try The Alters on Xbox Game Pass as well, especially since it’s been getting fantastic reviews with both the players and critics.
