Surprise! SEGA Is Bringing Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. To Xbox Series X|S

To end a weekend of fighting game action at EVO Japan, SEGA hosted a special Virtua Fighter 2025 Spring broadcast and it included one particular bit of exciting news for Xbox fans.

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio (Yakuza) and AM2 will be bringing Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. to the Xbox Series X|S at some point in the future. This version of Virtua Fighter 5 will come with rollback netcode and crossplay support – allowing you to take on Virtua Fighter players across PlayStation 5, Steam and Nintendo Switch 2.

SEGA says it will be sharing more details about these console versions soon and it’s going to “include even more content to make this much more than a simple port”. That’s all for now, but when we hear more, we’ll let you know.

Here’s a description of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. which was released on Steam earlier this year in January. You can see the announcement for Xbox around the six-minute mark in the video above and check out the original Steam launch trailer below.

“Challenge the greatest fighters in the world in the ultimate remaster of the classic 3D fighter, now featuring Rollback netcode support, gorgeous 4K graphics, and all the bone-crunching, martial arts combat of the renowned original.
