Riot Games is set to launch Valorant Mobile in China nearly four years after it was first announced.

The studio has partnered with Tencent’s Lightspeed Studios to bring the first-person tactical hero shooter to mobile devices.

The Chinese developer has previously worked on multi-billion dollar hit PUBG Mobile and Peacekeeper Elite.

It’s also previously partnered with Riot on League of Legends: Wild Rift, which has been a success in China, generating approximately $1.5 billion in gross revenue on the country’s App Store, according to AppMagic estimates.

Tencent, which owns Riot Games, has also previously released a local version of Teamfight Tactics, too.

No release date was provided. The company hinted at a global launch at a later timeframe, stating it would update fans “as our plans develop further”.

Long-time coming

Riot Games announced back in 2021 that a Valorant mobile game was in the works.

The title first launched on PC in June 2020. According to Tracker.gg, it has averaged approximately 18 million+ players per month over the past six months.
