EA Issues Statement On Battlefield Labs: ‘Things That Are Taking Place May Or May Not Make Their Way To The Final Finish Line’

The global community manager for EA has taken to Reddit to remind users that everything taking place in Battlefield Labs isn’t guaranteed to make its way into the final product — in other words, the new Battlefield game.

The post comes after a series of gameplay started appearing online detailing various elements of the Battlefield Labs testing, and with it, plenty of rumours and conjecture about what EA may or may not be implementing in the final product. Cleary, the publishing giant is not happy about the leaks, leading to Totalfps looking to nip things in the bud:

Battlefield Labs is about building and collaborating on the future of Battlefield, and we want to do that in the correct way. I want to remind everyone things that are taking place in Battlefield Labs may or may not make their way to the final finish line.

This is the greatest thing about this program, it allows us the ability to get creative, see what works with those involved, gain educated and informed feedback from those that are participating and potentially spot bugs around the features too. We’ve long wanted to implement this program, responding to your requests for greater involvement and a return to this type of reactivity around all things Battlefield.

One of the videos that emerged from the Battlefield Labs testing initiative featured some impressive destruction mechanics, which will hopefully make it to the final game.

The new Battlefield game has yet to attract a release date.
