Phasmophobia Dev Details First Major Update Since Xbox Console Launch

Indie horror hit Phasmophobia finally launched on Xbox late last year after some lengthy delays, and now the team over at Kinetic Games has delivered a roadmap of what’s to come – including details of its first major update since the game’s console launch.

That update will be named ‘Chronicle’, and it’s “all about revamping the way you record evidence (and are rewarded for it!) such as Photos and Videos in any investigation.” The team also says that its Chronicle update will bring “our new piece of hunting equipment – the Sound Recorder”.

Following on from Chronicle, the Phasmophobia developer has lots of other plans for 2025 – and beyond. We’ve got a player character overhaul coming soon with “refreshed character models and improved animations” (followed by full player customisation in 2026), while new and reworked maps will also be added to the game throughout 2025 and 2026.

Finally, before closing out this new development update, Kinetic Games talked about its planned seasonal events – which can be seen in snapshot form up above. The team will be “implementing the feedback we received across our three events and continuing with the same themes for Halloween and Winter, while introducing a new take on our Easter event”.
