Dream Games’ Royal Kingdom has generated nearly $2.4 million in gross player spending in its first 14 days since global launch.
Combined with its $21.2 million in soft launch revenue, this brings the Royal Match spinoff to a total of $23.6 million to date, according to AppMagic’s estimates across Google Play and the App Store.
It’s been a quieter launch than many of the year’s other major releases like Dungeon & Fighter: Mobile, Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket and even Squad Busters, but Royal Kingdom’s $2.4 million is still more than triple Royal Match’s $618,000 in its own first fortnight.
On the rise
Royal Kingdom’s revenue has observably ramped up since making $871,000 in its first week of global launch, almost doubling that in week two with a further $1.5 million.
This was the result of increased daily spending which hit record levels for the game – even accounting for its 19 months in soft launch.
Week two started with a record (at the time) $160,000 on November 28th and only continued to reach new heights day-over-day until its current peak, $275,000 on December 1st.
Daily revenue has slightly declined since but remains above any levels recorded in week one.
In fact, daily player spending had never hit six figures until November 22nd, so $215,000 on December 4th can still be seen as an improvement more broadly.
Royal Kingdom has evidently gained momentum, with player spending in the US becoming increasingly impactful. The country didn’t have access to Royal Kingdom until its global launch but has spent almost $1.1 million since, representing just 4% of lifetime earnings but 46% since it went global.
The UK, by comparison, represents 69% of lifetime player spending with a $16.4 million contribution, but $15.8 million of this came during the soft launch period. This means that since Royal Kingdom’s global release, players in the UK have spent approximately $600,000, or 25% of worldwide spend.
The contribution from the US since full release better tracks with the country’s lifetime contribution to Royal Match, Dream Games’ previous title which has made almost $4 billion to date. $2.2 billion of that has come from players in the US.
