The Pokémon Company International has set a Guinness World Record for the longest unboxing livestream video with help from content creators across Europe.

During a 24-hour marathon, influencers opened over 1,500 booster packs and unwrapped a variety of Pokémon Center and Licensed Pokémon products, revealing an estimated 20,000+ cards in total.

The company said that the cards will be sorted into protective binders and then donated to charities around Europe, including children’s charity Barnados in the UK.

Pikachu also joined the streamers at the 24-hour mark to celebrate and accept the official Guinness World Records certificate. The company plans to do product giveaways on content creators’ channels over the next two weeks.

“It’s been an incredible 24 hours of pack opening, and we’re thrilled to have achieved such an ambitious Guinness World Records title alongside an amazing team of content creators,” said The Pokémon Company International senior director of marketing Peter Murphy.

The publicity stunt comes shortly after the launch of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, which has surpassed $100 million in gross revenue in under three weeks.

As of November 17th, total earnings have reached $120.8 million. The game generated $33.7 million in its first week and has consistently generated over $5 million per day, peaking at $5.8 million on November 3rd.
