Fan mod mixes Zelda: The Wind Waker with Untitled Goose Game

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker absolutely shocked Nintendo fans when the debut trailer was released, as it featured a look and style that was way outside of expectations. While there was considerable pushback against the direction leading up to launch, opinions changed in a big way once the title released, and nowadays Wind Waker is looked back on as one of the most unique and endearing entries in the franchise.

As you know, Nintendo games continue to live on long after they release thanks to fan projects, and The Wind Waker is no different. There are countless speed runs and tributes to the game out there, but there’s also a variety of mods. That said, there’s never been one quite like this, as it’s a mash-up that seems to be plucked out of thin air.

Have you ever wanted to see the worlds of Untitled Goose Game and Zelda: The Wind Waker combined? You’ve probably never even considered that possibility at all (I know I haven’t!), but one modder out there has! That’s resulted in The Legend of Goose: The Wind Honker, and absolutely wild fan project that makes the goose from Untitled Goose Game the protagonist in The Wind Waker.

While this mod does make the goose the main playable character, it also offers a lot more beyond that. The game’s intro has been redone to reflect the goose protagonist, the paintings and statues now feature geese, signage has been reworked to mention geese not being allowed on the premises, and Ganon has been replaced with the farmer from Untitled Goose Game! You can see how it all comes together in the lengthy trailer above.
