Rumour – PSVR 2 Wireless Headset Leaked By Sony In PS Blog Post
An image posted on the PlayStation Blog announcing the latest PS5 system update has leaked what many reckon is a PSVR 2 wireless headset.
The image in question is of the Welcome Hub, which seems to feature a battery level icon for the PSVR 2, which is curious as the device is of course a wired headset. In case you weren’t aware, the Welcome Hub offers widgets that allow you to display the battery level for your accessories.

It’s worth pointing out that the icon isn’t for the PSVR 2 Sense controllers, as they have their own battery indicator. Interestingly, Sony has since scrubbed the PSVR 2 battery icon, which suggests it was either an outright mistake or they are indeed planning a wireless version of the virtual reality device.
Treat this as speculation for the time being, although hopefully if something is in the pipeline, Sony won’t drag its heels in providing any official announcement.
PSVR 2 arrived in stores in early 2023 and is a powerful device offering some genuinely immersive experiences, although the price has been a sticking point for many potential players. There has also been concern about the lack of first-party support from Sony, and rumours about the format holder cutting funding for PSVR 2 haven’t helped matters.
We put PSVR 2 through its paces at launch and came away very impressed to say the least. You can find out more in our full review here.
