Daydream: Forgotten Sorrow | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary

Who is ready to go on a creepy and mystical adventure? Daydream Forgotten Sorrow offers a delightful puzzle platformer with a gorgeous art style, fantastic music and plenty of tricky puzzles. We play as a silent kid who gets chased by something ominous as we need to overcome the odds together with our cute teddybear sidekick. The first minutes and levels will definitely feel like an homage to Little Nightmares (I believe I even spotted an actual “yellow” homage to Little Nightmares itself) but it does not take long until it finds its own identity.
Daydream often changes perspectives with differnet gameplay segments, but also offers a great variety of locations with each feeling unique and different. Some are dark and mysterious while others are colorful and feel like a fairy tale. The puzzles are tricky, but never too difficult to where you get stuck long. Towards the end there are a bit too many puzzles revolving around turning switches though, but in general the gameplay and its pacing are great.
There is a neat mechanic where you get to control the actions of your teddy bear and other side characters and I am glad that we can add another adventure next to games like Inside and Little Nightmares. This type of platformer definitely has not been oversaturated yet, so I am curious to see what the future holds for this genre!
