Final Fantasy Resonance Is A HD-2D RPG Coming To PS5 In October 2026

The Final Fantasy series is taking its first step into HD-2D territory with Final Fantasy Resonance, a new instalment in the venerable RPG franchise that is in development at Lancarse for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/. The game is due for release on October 22, 2026.

In addition to the Standard Edition of the game, Final Fantasy Resonance is also getting a Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes the following goodies:

Final Fantasy Resonance offers a visually striking experience that recalls the series’ classic pixel-art with dynamic camera angles and 3D models, offering a classic RPG adventure that is packed with series staples — airships, crystals, espers, and moogles. Battles unfold in turn-based, strategic encounters where players must exploit enemy weaknesses to stagger them, allowing you to gain the upper hand and seize extra turns.
