CD Projekt RED Reveals Its New IP Project Hadar Is ‘An Emotional, Open-World Experience’

CD Projekt RED has let slip a few new details about its new IP, known as Hadar, revealing it will take the form of an “emotional, open-world experience.”
A new job ad posting by the Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher IV developer reveals it’s looking for an individual who “will help push the envelope for the next, immersive game in the Hadar world, creating an emotional, open-world experience that will stay with gamers.” The open-word tidbit isn’t actually mentioned in other job listings for Hadar, although it’s not surprising to hear the new IP adopting that particular template given CD Projekt RED’s rich history in open world games.
As for when we could see Hadar, well, it’s still a long way off at this point. Speaking in its latest financial result last week, the CDPR revealed that the new IP had 24 people working on the game as of April 30, which when you considering the 513 developers working on The Witcher IV, puts things into perspective.
Speaking of The Witcher IV, it was recently stated by the joint-CEO of CDPR that the developer has entered the ‘most intensive phase‘ of the game’s production cycle. The developer is also working on a new expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, known as Songs of the Past, which is slated for release in 2027.
Project Hadar was announced in October 2022, and earlier this year CDPR revealed during its 2025 FY results that the game was progressing well.
