James Bond’s PS5 Debut 007 First Light Has Gone Gold

IO Interactive has announced that 007 First Light, the first proper James Bond console outing since 2012’s 007 Legends, has officially gone gold reports BetaNews.
“007 First Light has gone gold! See you on May 27th for this re-imagined origin story. Pre-order now and unlock a free deluxe edition upgrade,” said the company in a post on X. The news comes off the back of footage of the game running on PS5 Pro at 60 FPS for the first time, which is looking quite impressive.
007 First Light is scheduled for release on May 27, 2026 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version arriving at a later date. It was previously confirmed that the game’s theme song will be performed by Lana Del Rey, and you can listen to it here. Meanwhile, Lennie James has praised his co-star Patrick Gibson — the actor who portrays James Bond in the game — stating that he should be in the running for the next Bond movie.
007 First Light will tell an original story for the character, with the game following a 26-year-old James Bond as he embarks on a mission to procure his 00 Status. The game plucks inspiration from Ian Fleming’s novels and short stories, and follows 007 as a more inexperienced character, before he became the sophisticated, martini-sipping super spy portrayed in the films. 007 First Light will still include a number of iconic faces from the Bond universe, including M, Q, and Miss Moneypenny.
