Professor Layton And The New World Of Steam Brings Fantasy Puzzle Adventure To PS5 In Late 2026
Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, the fantasy-puzzle adventure game from LEVEL-5, is officially coming to the PS5 and PC “towards the end of 2026,” the company announced today. The game was previously announced for for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
This latest entry in the series takes place one year after the events of Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, and is set in the American town of Steam Bison. Powered by revolutionary steam technology, Steam Bison has surpassed even London in its rapid development, but a new incident soon attracts Professor Layton and Luke.
Among the features highlighted in the press release include world map, updated movement, mouse support for all formats excluding Switch, and new companion characters. The puzzles are designed by QuizKnock and appear here in greater numbers than previous Professor Layton games, and players will brush shoulders with a host of unique characters on their journey as you explore a town “fuelled by invention.”
Professor Layton and the New World of Steam is due out on PS5, PC, Switch, and Switch 2 in late 2026.
