Alan Wake 2 & Control Ultimate Edition Will Support Upgraded PSSR, Confirms Remedy

Remedy has announced that Sony’s upgraded PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) will be coming to Alan Wake 2 and Control Ultimate Edition.

Speaking on Remedy’s official X account, the developer commented, “This more advanced version of PSSR will soon be available to all PlayStation 5 Pro owners, bringing noticeable improvements in image stability clarity of motion. Explore the Oldest House and Bright Falls with a new level of visual fidelity.”

Sony announced its upgraded PSSR on February 27, confirming it will begin rolling out in the coming weeks. Resident Evil Requiem, which launched the same day as the reveal, is the first title to take advantage of the new technology. The upgraded PSSR comes out of Sony and AMD’s collaboration, Project Amethyst, which is also set to provide the backbone for the PlayStation 6.

Alan Wake was released in October 2023 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, while Control Ultimate Edition arrived for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in February 2021 as an upgraded version of the original 2019 version of the game.
