Naoki Hamaguchi On Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Release: ‘I’m Hoping It’s Not Going To Be Too Far In The Future’

Square Enix’s Naoki Hamaguchi has revealed during an interview with Bloomberg that the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 is something he hopes isn’t “going to be too far in the future,” with the publication noting that the highly anticipated project is expected to get a formal reveal in this year.

Hamaguchi-san, who in the same interview also confirmed that areas such as Rocket Town and Wutai will be featured in the concluding chapter to the Final Fantasy VII Remake project, noted how the team wanted to ensure they weren’t simply reskinning the same experience across all three games.

We didn’t want the three installments to be a reskinning of the same game over and over again. We want to make sure we’re expanding with every installment in terms of scale, as well as retaining that freshness as you go into each installment.

Hamaguchi-san added that the development team “already has the foundation of the gameplay in place” and is in the process of polishing and fine-tuning the experience ahead of release.
