WWE 2K26 ESRB Listing Confirms No PS4 Release, Inferno Matches & Thumb Tacks Mentioned

2K’s upcoming WWK 2K26 has been rated by the ESRB ahead of its full reveal, confirming that the wrestling title will not be released for last-generation systems. For PlayStation users, this means it’ll skip PS4 and only launch for the PS5.
The game has been rated for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S with no PS4 and Xbox One version included. This probably isn’t surprising at this point in the series given that PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are now over five-years-old, so the developer probably doesn’t want to be saddled with the limitations of previous hardware.
Elsewhere, the rating also turns up a bit of info on what to expect from WWE 2K26. Here’s an excerpt from the rating:
Players compete in different match types (e.g., tag team, extreme rules, inferno) and progress through storylines that highlight historical matches and wrestlers’ careers. Players perform strikes and wrestling moves (e.g., submissions, grapples, holds, to drain opponents’ health and stamina. In some matches, players use various objects (e.g., chairs, thumb tacks, tables) to attack opponents.
WWE 2K26 is set to get a full reveal tomorrow, so we’ll bring you more details on the game — including a release date, game mechanics, and its various special editions — in time for the weekend.
