Rumour — Fallout: New Vegas Remake Is In Development Alongside Fallout 3 Remaster

Bethesda is working on a Fallout: New Vegas Remake alongside the long-rumoured overhaul of Fallout 3, according to a report on Windows Central.

Speaking in a deep-dive on the future of Xbox, the site claimed that Fallout 3 Remake is going to be similar to what Bethesda achieved with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, “as well as Fallout New Vegas on top.” As previously reported, Fallout 3 Remastered has been rumoured for a while now, as the game was originally outed in documents pertaining to the then-going court case between Microsoft and the FTC over the Activision acquisition.

The full quote reads, “We are eventually getting a Fallout 3 remake in the vein of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, as well as Fallout: New Vegas on top.”

A report on VGC late last year revealed that Fallout 3 Remastered is one of the “other things” that Bethesda’s Todd Howard mentioned the studio was working on during a GQ magazine interview. Howard also acknowledged that fans are clamouring for a remaster of the 2008 RPG during a chat with Dexerto, stating “we’re working on a whole bunch of stuff and we look forward to the day when we reveal them.”

There’s been little said about a possible Fallout: New Vegas Remake until now, but with Amazon’s Fallout series now casting its gaze over the post-game events of the 2010 RPG, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to introduce Fallout: New Vegas to a whole new generation of players with a full remake.

While we’re on the subject of Fallout: New Vegas, Marcus Morgan and Justin Britch of Obsidian Entertainment revealed during a chat with The Game Business in November last year acknowledged that fans are eager for a full sequel, but didn’t touch base on a potential remaster or remake.
