Lionsgate Boss Confirms AAA John Wick Game Is In Development

Adam Fogelson, Chairman of Lionsgate, has revealed during the company’s latest earnings call that a AAA John Wick game is currently in production, with a reveal due soon.
In addition to a game based on the high-octane action franchise, Fogelson revealed that a new SAW video game is also in step pipeline, which will be the first instalment since SAW II: Flesh and Blood. There’s not much to go on right now, although here’s the full quote from Fogelson:
Our AAA game opportunities and other gaming opportunities around John Wick and Saw and some others that we’ll be announcing soon.
The character of John Wick has seen huge popularity in recent years thanks to the movie adaptations starring Keanu Reeves as the titular ex-hitman. Lionsgate has also acknowledged the ‘increased interest’ among fans for adaptations of popular franchises in the company’s portfolio.
Reeves has so far starred in four John Wick films, starting with 2014’s John Wick and continuing with John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017), John Wick Chapter 3 — Parabellum (2019), and John Wick Chapter 4 (2023). A fifth chapter is currently in production alongside a spinoff focussing on the character of Caine, played by Donnie Yen.
This isn’t the first we’ve heard about Lionsgate’s plans for a AAA John Wick video game, as back in May 2023 its then-CEO Joe Drake revealed that the company was moving forward with the franchise, which includes the AAA video game space and beyond (this was prior to the release of spinoff Ballerina).
