The Art of Fighting’s Kingpin Returns to South Town in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

Summary

  • As of Dec 9, Mr. Big from Art of Fighting joins Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves!
  • Master Mr. Big’s moves and leave your rivals in the dust!
  • Breaking: COTW continues — Season 2 is coming!

On December 9, 2025, the man himself finally descended upon South Town.

First appearing in 1992’s Art of Fighting, he was a top executive in the organization that controlled the city from the shadows — MR. BIG.

Let’s take a look at the dark, charismatic appeal he’s known for!

Mr. Big’s Battle Style

Mr. Big is a tricky character who uses his batons to confuse opponents with long-reaching normals, as well as his counter move, Silat Parry (New Move).

He excels the most at mid-range combat, seizing control with feints and counterattacks.

That being said, don’t assume he’s a slouch up close!  His command throw Drum Shot breaks through guards, and Crazy Drum lets him keep attacking while forcing the opponent to block. This makes him a versatile character capable of both mid-range mind games and close-range disruption, delivering powerful offense even at point-blank range.

Let’s take a deeper look at his moves.

Grand Blaster

A technique where Mr. Big scrapes the ground to unleash fiery sparks.

Light, Heavy, and Rev versions vary in range and speed, allowing you to adjust your shots based on the opponent’s position.

Mr. Big struggles a bit fighting at long range, so use this technique to fend off opponents who like to zone you out from afar.

Crazy Drum

A technique where Mr. Big attacks continuously with batons in hand.

This is great for pinning opponents down, allowing Mr. Big to fight at his preferred distance. It’s also great for forcing the opponent to block, increasing their Rev gauge, locking down their movement, and as a follow-up attack with Rev Accel.

It’s quite a versatile technique, so first try landing this move on your opponent.

Cross Diving

One of Mr. Big’s signature techniques, where he crosses his batons and charges towards the opponent.

This technique has been a staple of Mr. Big’s moves since the original Art of Fighting and returns in City of the Wolves!

Its long charge distance allows you to close the gap quickly from mid-range.

Try Crazy Drum → Cross Diving → Rev Accel → California Romance for an exciting and damaging combo!

Drum Shot

A command throw where Mr. Big grabs the opponent and delivers a flurry of strikes with his batons.

It can break through an opponent’s tight defenses and deal massive damage when used with Rev Accel.

Silat Parry (New Move)

A counter technique where Mr. Big blocks the opponent’s attack and immediately strikes back.

Unlike other counter techniques, it can be feinted to threaten the opponent and launch your offense.

This tricky move can confuse opponents who are wary of Mr. Big’s other special moves, giving him the psychological upper hand.

California Romance

A technique where Mr. Big tackles the opponent and flies into the air.

It works great as an anti-air! If you suspect your opponent is going to jump in, you can use this move to intercept them and secure a knockdown.

The Heavy and Rev versions will have longer reach, so you can intercept your opponents from farther away.

You can also Brake this move, allowing you to use it as either an anti-air or as part of a combo.

The bridge connecting Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury: MR. BIG!

While Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury share the same setting, they have long been treated as separate entities. Mr. Big’s inclusion in City of the Wolves represents one step closer to closing that gap.

While Kyokugen-ryu user Marco also appears, the iconic Art of Fighting boss, Mr. Big, holds a special significance for the series.

Could his inclusion be a sign of more things to come?

The story of South Town looks to deepen even further from here.

This includes an update to Arcade and EOST (“Episodes of South Town”) Modes, where you can experience a brand-new original story for Mr. Big!

His Arcade Mode story focuses on Mr. Big attempting to reclaim a particularly incriminating piece of evidence tucked away within Geese’s legacy, offered as the prize for winning the KOF tournament.

His EOST Mode story will follow Mr. Big as he tries to ease the pain of his hostage Marie, mother to Rock and sister to Kain. Take a look at another side of the seemingly cold-hearted Mr. Big and discover his true intentions as you progress through the story!

Season 2 is Coming Soon!

For those of you who stuck with us to the end, here’s the bonus scoop:
