OD’s Reveal Trailer ‘Full Of Hints’ As To How The Game Will Play, Says Hideo Kojima

Back in September, Kojima & co. finally showcased a gameplay teaser for OD — their upcoming Xbox title — and despite the trailer being typically cryptic, the legendary game maker says that it was “full of hints” as to how the game will actually play.

Speaking with anaweb and translated by Automaton, Kojima talked a little bit about how OD is “changing the service model from the ground up” and that while this approach will be “challenging”, the recent reveal trailer is already “full of hints” as to what the team is going for.

“I can’t say exactly what it is yet, nor do I know if it will work out. We’ve created stealth games and delivery games which were unlike anything before, but system-wise, they were similar to other games. This time, we’re trying to change the service model from the ground up, so it should be quite challenging. We’ve packed the trailer full of hints, so if you keep thinking about it, you might figure it out.”

So, is it time to start watching a bunch of trailer rewinds on YouTube to see what folks think? Well, maybe – but to be honest, we’re happy to just wait and let Kojima’s vision play out in front of us. It’s been a long time waiting for the man to work directly with Microsoft on an Xbox game, and we’re ready to just enjoy it whenever it lands.

As for that last point there; we’d assume we’re still going to be waiting a while for OD to release, but hopefully they’re well on track now. Death Stranding 2 is now out and behind them, so here’s hoping that OD is Kojima Productions’ main focus for the time being.
