Dragon’s Dogma 2 Hits 4 Million Sales Worldwide, But Fans Are Still Clamouring For DLC

Dragon’s Dogma 2 has reached four million sales worldwide, Capcom has announced. However, despite the game’s success, the publisher still hasn’t committed to any DLC for the fantasy-RPG, something which fans are still hoping for.
Thank you to the four million Arisen around the world! We’re grateful to share the immersive fantasy world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 with you all, where freedom and adventure await.
Responding to the post on social media, fans quickly lamented the lack of DLC. Where’s the post release support guys? DLC? A reason to revisit? Feels like you have given up on it,” one player said, with another adding: “Please give us any information on if any plans for updates or DLC are in the works. We all are dying to know.”

Dragon’s Dogma II was released for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S in March 2024, but since then the series’ creator, Hideaki Itsuno, has departed Capcom. This would seemingly put the kibosh on any possible DLC, and if Capcom had planned for something, it would seem likely it would have been made while Itsuno-san was still with the studio. As for Itsuno, he’s now working at LightSpeed Japan Studio on a triple-A action game.
The original Dragon’s Dogma was released for PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2012, and was expanded with 2013’s Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen, which expanded the base adventure with a new dungeon, Bitterblack Isle, additional weapons and armour, and more, which was later ported to the PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. Dragon’s Dogma and the Arisen edition sold a combined 7.9 million copies by September 2023.
