My Favorite character from The Simpsons Movie is in Fortnite, and it’s not Homer

Ah, The Simpsons. I love that yellow family just as much now as I did when I was a kid, and I’m not ashamed to say that Fortnite managed to nab quite a bit of cash from me through the current collaboration, and, just when I thought I was done spending money, the Spider-Pig sidekick skin drops.

You all remember Spider-Pig, right? One of the most iconic characters to appear in the beloved franchise, debuting in The Simpsons Movie, and achieving stardom while being on screen for just a few minutes. Even today, I sometimes find myself mumbling Homer’s Spider-Pig song – even my mother had that song as her ringtone for a while back in 2007, and she hated The Simpsons.

Spider-Pig’s real name is Plopper, and he’s one of the new Fortnite sidekicks that you can enjoy. Essentially, these little guys keep you company, joining you on the island when you drop in for a match, and I certainly think it’s fun to bring Plopper along for the ride, especially if you have the Homer Simpson skin. Aw, it’s nice to see these two reunited at long last. Here’s hoping Plopper somehow appears in the next movie.

Plopper actually represents a first for the battle royale game, being the very first sidekick to appear as part of a collab. The company is off to a strong start with this one, and now all I can think about is Krypto the Superdog being due to appear soon.

Overall, The Simpsons collaboration is huge, perhaps one of the most significant to date, featuring numerous characters, from the iconic family to beloved faces such as Moe. The map itself even resembles Springfield, which is an absolute joy to explore. However, I must admit that it does have me feeling extra salty that we still don’t have a remaster for The Simpsons: Hit & Run yet.
