What are Anime Vanguards familiars?
Familiars are powerful beings you can add to your Anime Vanguards units. Each Familiar is sorted into three different tiers: exclusive, secret, and mythical. Vanguard tier is an entirely separate ranking for familiars, and can be exclusive to specific units. Familiars are great in battle because they use special buffs and stats to help you win, alongside passive abilities.

How do I get more Anime Vanguards familiars?
There are three key methods of unlocking more familiars in Anime Vanguards, but there is a small caveat. Some familiars are locked to limited-time events, meaning that it’s nearly impossible to add them to your roster. Unless they’re added back into the game for a specific reason, you’ll likely never see them pop anywhere else in-game. But don’t worry about that right now.
Here’s what you can do to get more Anime Vanguards familiars.
Purchase Anime Vanguards familiars from shops
In Anime Vanguards, there are different shops you can visit, including the event, rift, dungeon, and raid shops. The two main dungeon shops are on Ant Island or at the Frozen Volcano. You’ll need monarch coins for Ant Island, and dragon tokens for the Frozen Volcano dungeon shop. The Ruined City raid shop only accepts auric coins, while the rift shop requires rift shards.
Some of these shops can disappear, but the good news is that two event shops are permanently in-game. The King’s Return and The Strongest event shops both offer familiars of Vanguard rarity, too. For these shops, make sure to bring some event coins with you.
Complete raids
By completing raids in Anime Vanguards, you have a chance to add a familiar to your lineup. Finishing the first two acts of the Ruined City Raid rewards players with Birb, but there’s only a 1% chance that this can happen. Right now, no other raids give players familiars as a gift.
Finish story stages
If you finish off Normal story stages in Anime Vanguards, you can bag yourself a familiar in return for your efforts. When you complete the first six acts of the Hill of Sword Story stages, you can get Nose as a reward. There’s only a 10% chance of acquiring him, though. This also applies to completing Legend story stages.
How do I reroll Anime Vanguards familiars?
To reroll familiars in Anime Vanguards, you need to find the ‘reroll’ option on the familiars menu. From here, you try your luck if you’re feeling brave. You can use elemental shards to reroll your familiars’ element passive ability, and phoenix shards to roll their stars.
You can reroll them as many times as you want, provided you have enough of both resources and your familiar isn’t affected by a corruption crystal.
