Tales Of Xillia 2 Remastered Is Reportedly In The Works, Announcement For New Remaster Due ‘Soon’
According to a recent Famitsu interview with Yasuke Tomizawa, the producer on the Tales of series, a remaster of Tales of Xillia 2 is currently in the pipeline alongside a number of other projects in the franchise.
As reported by ryokutya2089, Tomizawa-san revealed that at least two remaster projects are in development, although their state of production ranges from verification phase to latter-stage development. Furthermore, an official announcement for the next remaster project will be made “soon,” although no date was provided.
Regarding a new entry in the Tales of franchise, the series’ producer stated that it’s still in development but an announcement is not likely to come anytime soon.

Elsewhere, the interview also touched on the appeal of the Tales of franchise outside of its native Japan, with over 70% of the franchise’s audience coming from overseas. Tomizawa puts this down to a broader global population ratio rather than an actual decrease in the series’ Japanese fanbase.
In the meantime, fans have Tales of Xillia Remastered to look forward too, which arrives on October 31, 2025 for PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
