Ubisoft Provides Closer Look At Avatar’s Third Person Mode Ahead Of Xbox Launch
Back in July, Ubisoft announced that it was bringing a third-person mode to Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora to coincide with the upcoming Fire and Ash movie release – and today, the team has provided a closer look at the mode ahead of its 2025 Xbox launch.
You can take a peek at that closer look up above – and we say peek because, well, the clip is only 30 seconds long. Still, compared to that initial announcement back in July — which just included a few tiny snippets as part of a wider ViDoc — this gives us a much better idea of how the perspective change will play in Frontiers of Pandora later this year.
“Experience Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora from a new perspective: Third-Person Mode, New Game+, and more, available in the next game update on December 5, 2025.
Discover Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – From the Ashes, a new action-adventure expansion inspired by the new Avatar: Fire and Ash film, coming December 19, 2025.
As you can see in the quote up above, the team’s third-person mode comes as part of a free update on December 5th, which also contains New Game+ and some other goodies. Then, on the same day as the upcoming movie, a premium ‘From the Ashes‘ expansion arrives for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – on December 19th.
All in all, this is looking like a very solid addition to the game – and we’re definitely interested in trying the third-person mode out later this year. Despite some grievances with the main game, we couldn’t deny that Ubisoft had delivered a gorgeous open world here – one that perhaps deserved to be enjoyed from a third-person perspective all along!
