The second entry, FFVII Rebirth, has been doing very well on both PS5 and PC. I know some fans have expressed concerns, but please rest assured, we’ll be able to deliver a proper, high-quality third installment.

Development is going extremely well, and the game is shaping up nicely,. A lot of the content is already playable, and the game’s direction and form are firmly set in place. Right now, the team is united around refining everything.

Back in January 2025, Hamaguchi revealed during an interview with Danny Pena that Cloud Strife is his favourite character in the Final Fantasy VII universe. As for the third part of the remake, Square Enix has indicated the game will arrive in 2027, and Hamaguchi wants it to be remembered as ‘one of the most loved, most popular games‘ ever.

The voice actor behind Cloud in the FFVII Remake project previously hinted that recording for the third chapter in the series is now underway.
