Nintendo Switch 2 Sales Fall Behind PS5 In Spain As Third-Party Titles Struggle
The PS5 has pulled ahead of the Nintendo Switch 2 in Spain over recent weeks. Nintendo’s new handheld enjoyed a strong global launch, but in this market, its momentum has slowed. That shift has given Sony the edge in one of Europe’s more competitive territories.
Third-party support is also showing cracks. Games that sell thousands on PS5 are managing only a few hundred copies on Switch 2 at launch. Performance concerns and reliance on Game-Key Cards, which require heavy downloads, appear to be discouraging players from picking up these versions.
If this trend continues, Switch 2 may find itself relying even more on Nintendo’s own exclusives to drive hardware sales. Meanwhile, PS5’s stronger third-party ecosystem in Spain shows just how critical multiplatform support remains in shaping a console’s success.
