Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds packaging confirms one more SEGA franchise, and another cameo appearance

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is coming to Switch on Sept. 25th, 2025, and will arrive on Switch 2 at a later date. The game features a huge roster of everyone’s favorite characters from the Sonic universe, which will continue to grow after launch with the addition of familiar faces from other SEGA franchises including Joker and Kasuga Ichiban, and even guest characters like Hatsune Miku and more. These characters will be available to all players for free through a series of game updates.

While SEGA has been keeping some characters secret, it appears that their efforts were in vain. Copies of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds are out in the wild right now, and the packaging spoils the surprise on another SEGA character joining the mix, along with another cameo character from a completely different IP.

Thanks to the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds packaging and inserts, we know that NiGHTS will have representation in the game. This was rumored a few days back, but now we have 100% confirmation on that. Perhaps even bigger news, a Season Pass insert in the game case announces that Mega Man will be making his way to the title as well.
