Supercell has opened applications for the next edition of its AI Innovation Lab in San Francisco.
We reported earlier this year that the Brawl Stars developer was setting up the initiative in the city. Starting September 22nd, the 11-week programme will run until December 2nd 2025, culminating in an invite-only demo day. It is open to individuals or teams of up to three, with a maximum of 20 participants in the batch.
Supercell said the programme is aimed at ambitious founders with clear gaming product ideas.
To be eligible, participants are required to have a valid US work authorisation and must be located in San Francisco for the programme’s duration.
Applications close on August 24th and are processed on a rolling basis. All team members must apply individually using the same team name, with one member submitting the project details for the group.
Hands-on mentorship
Supercell said the initiative will offer hands-on support from mentors and claimed there would be “uncapped” resources to test and execute on ideas quickly.
Participants will receive office space at the company’s San Francisco headquarters, food and accommodation in a hacker house, and access to any required hardware or software.
Supercell said the pilot batch saw seven out of 16 participants continue working directly with the developer after completion.
“At Supercell, we talk a lot about AI, but that’s not enough – all the talking needs to be backed with action,” said CEO Ilkka Paananen.” Today, we’re launching something very cool in San Francisco: a program for people who want to build something new and different in the intersection of AI x Gaming.”
