There are some big changes happening at Blizzard today, as Diablo general manager Rod Fergusson has announced that he’s leaving the company (along with Microsoft) after five years in the role.

The announcement was made on social media, as you can see below:

Xbox boss Phil Spencer shared his best wishes to Fergusson in a follow-up post:

For those who aren’t aware, Rod Fergusson is best known for his work on the Gears of War series (he’s credited with playing a big role in the success of the original), while Diablo IV has been his main project over the past few years.

No reason has been provided at the time of writing for why Fergusson is stepping away from the GM role.
