Octopath Traveler 0 Officially Coming To PS5 & PS4 In December 2025
Square Enix has announced that Octopath Traveler is receiving a PS5 & PS4 version in addition to the previous confirmed Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 editions, with the prequel set for release on December 4, 2025.
According to the official blurb per Nintendo, Octopath Traveler 0 allow players to experience story that channels restoration and retribution over the divine rings, leading to an epic saga that spans the realm of Orsterra. Octopath Traveler 0 utilises the franchise’s much-loved HD-2D visuals that marry retro pixel art with 3D CG art, with Path Actions allowing players to interact with other characters in multiple ways while the Break and Boost battle system lets you turn the tide of battle.

Elsewhere, Octopath Traveler will offer the chance to play as a fully customised protagonists for the first time, and can rebuild their hometown after it suffers major damage. Players can also select from over 30 allies and form a party of up to eight characters, while equipped skills can be learned by allies and passed on to others.
In addition to the Standard and Digital Deluxe Edition, Square Enix is also offering a Collector’s Edition via its website, which features the following:
- Full OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0 game
- All Digital Deluxe Edition content (as above)
- 8-Sided Dice of Wealth, Power, and Fame – A set of three 8-sided metal dice, each representing Wealth, Power, and Fame.
- Traveler’s Playing Cards – this deck features illustrations of the travelers who join you on your journey and the bosses you encounter along the way.
- Orsterra Continent Map Gaming Mat – features a newly illustrated map of the Orsterra continent, created specifically for this title.
- Ring of the Flamebringer – this ring plays a key role in the story of OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0 – and now you can wear a physical version! It’s size 21 (Japanese sizing).
- OCTOPATH TRAVELER Arrangements Break & Boost Vol.3 (Music CD) – an arranged soundtrack of music used throughout the game. (This soundtrack CD will be released separately for market-wide sale at a later date.)
- Art booklet – a beautifully curated collection of illustrations from the game.
