Slime Rancher 2 Releases This September, Three Years After Early Access Game Pass Launch
The team at Monomi Park has today announced the full 1.0 release date for Slime Rancher 2, almost three years on from its initial early access launch. The final version of Slime Rancher 2 hits Xbox Series X|S on September 23rd, 2025, with a physical edition also confirmed.
Sadly, the game’s 1.0 release doesn’t appear to be coinciding with a return to Xbox Game Pass. Upon its early access launch in September 2022, the game was a part of Xbox Game Pass, before leaving last year. We’ll update you folks if we hear anything about a return to XGP, but for now, that doesn’t seem to be on the cards.
“Rainbow Island awaits! Monomi Park, creators of the top-rated Slime Rancher franchise, are pleased to share that Slime Rancher 2 will exit early access and fully launch on Sept. 23 with digital editions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.”
The physical version will follow the main digital release on January 14th, 2026, courtesy of publisher iam8bit. The teams are adding in a neat bonus for those who’ll wait too; a fold-out poster with artwork created by Final Fantasy art director Yasuke Naora. For a limited time, physical pre-orders will also include a free download code for the game’s official soundtrack.
