Assassin’s Creed Shadows Summer Roadmap Confirms Sept. 16 Release For Claws Of Awaji, New Game Plus On July 29

Ubisoft has blown the lid off its summer roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which confirms, as previously reported, that the Claws of Awaji expansion will indeed drop in September 2025. Before that however, we’ll be getting our hands on the New Game Plus mode on July 29.

Going into more detail, the fee Progression Update on July 29 will feature not only New Game Plus, but also an increase in level cap, Knowledge Rank 9 & 10, Forge Level 4, plus extra Achievements & Trophies. Following this will be another free update adding quality-of-life improvements, including the ability to fast forward the time of day, unflagging of the world map, hideout updates, and uncapped frame rate during cutscenes for PC owners.

Coming July 29, New Game+ will be available as soon as you complete the final story mission and credits have rolled: opting in will reset your Story and objective board progression as well as discovered locations – but your character level, your acquired gear, skill points, Knowledge rank and your precious Hideout progression will remain untouched.

The Claws of Awaji expansion as mentioned drops on September 16, adding a brand new region to explore, a new weapon and abilities, additional outfits and legendary gear, an extra enemy faction and bosses, plus of course a new narrative to enjoy. The DLC promises to offer more than 20 hours of additional content.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows was released in March 2025 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
