    AEW Collision 7/26/2025

Live from the Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, Illinois! Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness welcome us to Collision, and we’re starting with a big title match up.

Match #1. AEW TNT Championship: Dustin Rhodes (c) vs. Lee Moriarty

Clothesline by Dustin and an arm drag. Clothesline over the top and to the floor by Dustin, before blocking a PK and arm whipping Moriarty on to the apron. Dustin sends Moriarty into the guardrail before raking the back and heading back inside the ring. Dustin works over the shoulder and the arm now, but Moriarty rolls through a wrist lock and delivers some European uppercuts. Dragon screw leg whip between the ropes by Moriarty, following up with a shin breaker. Moriarty follows with a few more dragon screws and we go to commercial. We’re back with an ankle pick by Moriarty and some roundhouse kicks to the leg. Moriarty measures Dustin and goes back to the leg. Flatliner into the middle turnbuckle by Moriarty, but he follows up by running into a snap powerslam. Both guys trade right hands now, until Dustin comes back with a reverse atomic drop, but injuring his own knee in the process. Modified bow and arrow submission by Moriarty, but Dustin fights out with more right hands. Dustin hits the ropes… Destroyer! Crossroads by Dustin! One, two, no! Moriarty gets his foot on the rope. Curtain Call by Dustin but he hurts his knee in the process, eventually getting a two count. High kick by Moriarty CRACKS Dustin. Two count. Moriarty lock in an ankle lock but Dustin crawls to the bottom rope… and gets there. Dustin sets up Shattered Dreams in the corner but the referee stops him, allowing Moriarty to catch him with a running leg lariat. Graduation by Moriarty. Two count. Moriarty sets up a figure four but Dustin snatches a cradle for the win!

Winner and STILL AEW TNT Champion: Dustin Rhodes

Rating: **3/4. Technically, this was a fine pro wrestling match. Do we need Dustin Rhodes going 20 minutes in the opener on Collision? I mean, that’s up to you, but…

Kyle Fletcher and Don Callis are here. Fletcher didn’t come here for a fight, he already outclasses Dustin in every single way. Fans politely ask Fletcher to be quiet. The only thing Fletcher needs is what he’s owed, and that’s the TNT title. Fletcher wants his shot next week, if Dustin is some fighting champion? Dustin asks the fans, and they say no, but he does it anyway, so. Tony Schiavone tells us that TK has made it official.

Last week, Colten Gunn got hurt when Big Bill popped him up and delivers an uppercut, seemingly his knee buckled. This week, the Bang Bang Gang is going to be Austin Gunn and Juice Robinson!

Tony Schiavone looks directly into the camera and talks to us about the passing of Hulk Hogan. Tony Schiavone gives us a very well-read statement, extolling the impact that Hulk Hogan had on pro wrestling in the 80’s, as well as igniting the Monday Night Wars in the 90’s for WCW.

Last week was the first time Toni Storm had a woman in her box she didn’t like. Alright then. Forever ROH Champion, Athena? Tonight, she’s facing Alex Windsor, and Storm would like nothing more than to see that title be strapped around the waist of Windsor.

Match #2. AEW Tag Team Tournament: Big Bill & Bryan Keith vs. Bang Bang Gang

Austin slaps Bill in the face and tries an ankle pick, successfully. Jabs by Austin but Bill depletes him with a huge boot. Body slam by Bill and now he focuses the attack on the left leg of Austin. Single leg crab by Bill as we go to commercial. Bill misses a splash in the corner and gets low bridged. Keith tags himself in and eats a back elbow in the corner. Austin lifts Keith up and over the top, to the floor, and on top of Bill! Juice gets the tags and delivers a bunch of jabs to Keith and the Right Hand of God! Bill tries to come in but Juice crotches him on the top rope before sending him to the floor with a running elbow. Russian Leg Sweep to Keith and a senton! Cannonball in the corner and a two count on Keith. Keith sends Juice throat-first across the middle turnbuckle and Bill hits him with a boot from the outside. Exploder by Keith. Two count. Bill slingshots Juice into a sliding knee from Keith! Two count. Bill and Keith look for a Superbomb, but Austin crotches Keith on the top rope and Juice tries a hurricanrana, but Keith rolls through, and now Juice rolls through and gets the win!

Winners: Bang Bang Gang

Rating: **3/4. Fine tag match here, obviously the injury to Colten has shaken things up a bit, but it’s great to have Juice back. Bang Bang Gang have advanced in the tournament.

Lexi Nair is with Shane Taylor, but here’s Don Callis. Callis tells Taylor that The Bucks will beat the OutRunners next week, but Callis’ and Taylor’s guys will take out The OutRunners tonight… and split the $400k 75/25.

Who can survive five, with the greatest wrestler alive?

Match #3. Max Caster vs. Anthony Bowens w/ Billy Gunn

Bowens attacks early but the fans are chanting for Caster! Bowens is getting heated so he’s chopping the heck out of Caster. Fameasser to Caster. Superkick. Caster gets Mollywopped and this one is over.

Winner: Anthony Bowens

Rating NR

Bowens mounts, grounds, and pounds Caster at the end of this one. Billy Gunn rips Bowens off of Caster and Bowens stares daggers at him before heading to the back.

Lexi Nair is with The Patriarchy. Wait, Mother Wayne says don’t call them The Patriarchy anymore. Nick Wayne starts talking but AR Fox interrupts him and wants a fight tonight. Grab a partner, we have a tag match.

Match #5. $400k 8-Man Tag: Lance Archer, Hechicero, & Shane Taylor Promotions vs. The OutRunners, Tomohiro Ishii, & Hologram

Bravo tries to chop Ishii but gets run through with a shoulder block. Hologram in with a spinning hook kick and Ishii with a vertical suplex. Two count. Hechicero with a drop toe hold and a roll up for two. Around the world arm drag by Hologram. Head scissors into the turnbuckle by Hologram and The OutRunners get the tag. Knee lift and a back suplex. Hologram tries a hurricanrana on Archer but Archer powerbombs him on The OutRunners. Commercial time. Running back elbow by Bravo and a diving clothesline by Dean on Hologram. Hologram backflips out of a back suplex and tags Turbo, who clears the ring with right hands. Body slam to Bravo. To Dean. HE’S HULKING UP. Ishii and Hechicero pair up and it’s headbutt city. Hurricanrana by Hologram takes Archer to the outside. Suicide dive by Hologram to Hechicero into the announcer’s desk. Body slam by Floyd. YOU SONUVABITCH DOUBLE ELBOW DROP. Outrunners double clothesline Archer over the top and the referee gets crunched in the corner. Shane Taylor gets on the apron and everything is breaking down. The Paragon is here and they run Taylor off. Taylor and Dean go for a double team move, but Turbo low bridges Dean and The OutRunners hit Total Recall on Bravo! That’ll do it.

Winners: The Outrunners, Tomohiro Ishii, & Hologram

Rating: **1/2. Fine action, but I feel like we’ve seen this a million times. All we were missing was Mark Briscoe.

In the back, Lexi Nair is with Tomohiro Ishii and Hologram. Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong are here and Kyle tries to get everyone to reunite and celebrate Roddy’s birthday, since they’re $400k richer… but nobody is having it.

Match #7. Nick Wayne & Kip Sabian w/ Mother Wayne vs. Angelico & AR Fox

Wayne blasts Fox early as he and Sabian take turns putting the boots to Fox in the corner. Fox with a Northern Light’s Suplex and a tag to Angelico. Fancy hammerlocks by Angelico, but Sabian causes a distraction and Wayne catches him with a clothesline. Commercial break. Angelico gets the hot tag to Fox and he clears the ring with clotheslines. Diving clothesline in the corner and a skin the cat double boot in to a cutter. Wow. Cutter for Sabian. Plancha to Sabian on the outside. Swanton to Wayne inside the ring! Two count. Tag to Angelico but Wayne tags Sabian, and he comes off the top with a shotgun dropkick. Imploding cannonball by Sabian in the corner. Triangle moonsault by Wayne to Fox on the outside. Diving clothesline by Sabian to Angelico, and now Wayne calls for the tag and finishes this one with the Killswitch.

Winners: Nick Wayne & Kip Sabian

Rating: **1/2. Another fine match, but outside of a flurry by Fox, there wasn’t a lot of offense from he and Angelico.

Kris Statlander is with Renee. Statlander rips into Willow, and she doesn’t need Willow to remind her who she is. Strong, tough, athletic, thankful for being her. Because you can’t stop… Stat.

Match #8. Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion: Athena (c) w/ Billie Starkz vs. Alex Windsor

Windsor ducks a clothesline and tries a roll up, but Athena blocks it, and Windsor drops her with a headbutt. Running back elbow in the corner by Windsor and a leaping lariat after a misdirection. Russian Leg Sweep by Windsor and she holds on for a two count. Athena blocks a powerbomb by biting the leg of Windsor, and followed up with a superkick. Gotch grip into a flipping facebuster (what?), but Athena holds on, and floats into a Koji Clutch! Awesome. Windsor stacks Athena up for a two count. Back drop driver by Athena! Two count. Athena goes up top but Windsor follows with a rising headbutt and powerbombs her off the top! Two count. Sharpshooter by Windsor but Athena kicks her to the floor. Low baseball slide by Athena but Windsor moves, drops her face-first on the apron, and then again on the floor in a Glam Slam-like maneuver. Starkz grabs the leg of Windsor but gets thrown into the steel steps. Suicide dive by Athena. Both women are now on the LED board, trading right hands. Windsor elbows Athena off, but Athena delivers a powerbomb from the top of the LED board to the floor! Athena rolls Windsor in the ring and finishes this one with the O Face.

Winner and STILL Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion: Athena

Rating: ***1/2. Athena continues to be THE FOREVER CHAMP and this was awesome. Heck of an effort for Windsor, who had a great showing for herself tonight.

After the match, Athena and Billie attack Windsor, but Toni Storm makes the save. Mongolian Chops for everyone and a Thesz Press to Athena back inside the ring. Running hip attack to Athena! TCM Chicken Wing! Starkz makes the save when she blasts Storm in the back of the head with the steel contract folder. Starkz holds Storm in place as Athena goes up top for the O Face, but Windsor is up. HOCKEY FIGHT. Storm and Windsor stand tall and I see a heck of a tag team match in the future.

That’s a wrap for tonight, everyone, and don’t forget Collision is live next Thursday!
