Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 roster revealed, Bam Margera returning (UPDATE)
Tony Hawkβs Pro Skater 3+4 was just confirmed for Switch yesterday, and the game is set to arrive on July 11th, 2025. Today weβve gotten a breakdown of the new and returning skaters, and thereβs one name missing from the classic roster.
Tony Hawkβs Pro Skater 3 + 4 Classic Skaters
- Tony Hawk
- Bucky Lasek
- Steve Caballero
- Kareem Campbell
- Geoff Rowley
- Andrew Reynolds
- Elissa Steamer
- Chad Muska
- Eric Koston
- Rodney Mullen
- Jamie Thomas
- Rune Glifberg
- Bob Burnquist
Tony Hawkβs Pro Skater 3 + 4 New Skaters
- Rayssa Leal
- Chloe Covell
- Jamie Foy
- Zion Wright
- Yuto Horigome
Longtime fans of the Tony Hawk series might notice that Bam Margera isnβt included in the breakdown. Jackass member Bam Margera originally made his debut in the Tony Hawk series with the third installment, but heβs not mentioned here. That would make him the only classic skater not returning for this revamp.
Tony Hawkβs Pro Skater 3+4 will also have special unlockable characters, so thereβs a slight chance Bam could be included there. That said, putting Bam in as a special unlockable wouldnβt make much sense, as everyone else from the original Tony Hawkβs Pro Skater 3 and 4 were mentioned in the Classic Skaters category.
Thereβs no word on why Bam appears to have been removed, but itβs likely tied to his many brushes with the law and substance abuse issues in recent years.
UPDATE: During an episode of The Nine Club podcast, it was claimed that Bam Margera will indeed be in the game. While he was originally pulled from the title, we hear that Tony Hawk spoke with Activision to get them to change their decision, and Bam was then flown out their studio to get scanned for the game. UPDATE 6/30: In a chat with Polygon, Tony Hawk shared a bit more on how Bam Margeraβs return for THPS 3+4 came to be:
βIβm not a dictator in terms of how the game is run, but I did connect with [Bam] recently and heβs in a really good place and skating a lot. He just seems highly motivated and I felt like we should bring that energy back to the game. It was all very last-minute, I will say that. Iβm thankful that he was agreeable and that Activision was into it. He got scanned in record time [laughs].β
βI was in Los Angeles and I had a day off. I didnβt talk to Tony Hawk for about a year. And last time he saw me, I wasnβt doing too good. So I decided to give him a call. He said he was down at the Hawkβs Nest skatepark and to stop by. I was thinking I would just say, what up? And I grabbed my skateboard. Put on some knee pads. And we wound up ollieing over each other on the big channel and heβs like, what is going on? You are back.
Iβm like, yeah, man, Iβm married to a stretch coach. Iβm skating every day again. You know, so he was pretty blown away by that. And, I think that, you know, really. Provoked him to make a call to Activision, knowing that there was already a deadline, but to see what kind of strings he could pull to get me back in it. Just from that special little visit.β
