Three Xbox Games Are Shutting Down Their Servers In July & August 2025
Every month, we like to bring you an update on the Xbox games shutting down their servers, but there’s not a whole lot going on in both July and August 2025 so far – with just three Xbox games getting the treatment as things stand.
That’s obviously a good thing though! These are all pretty small titles as well, with free-to-play tank shooter Armored Warfare being one of them, and two NASCAR Heat titles rounding off the list.
Armored Warfare’s closure was very quietly announced a little while ago, and will see the game becoming completely unplayable after July, while NASCAR Heat’s closures are due to licensing issues.
“Today (14/05/2025), we are announcing the closure of the console versions of Armored Warfare on Sony PlayStation and Xbox. The game will no longer be available on these platforms starting on July 30th. We want to express our sincere appreciation for your dedication and support over the years. Seeing the Armored Warfare community grow and thrive on consoles has been truly rewarding, and we are grateful for each one of you. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.”
Beyond this, there’s more stuff happening in August related to Xbox server shutdowns – Anthem will be leaving Xbox Game Pass via EA Play on August 15th ahead of its server closure next January, while The Golf Club 2019 and PGA Tour 2K21 will be turning off in-game microtransactions ahead of their server closures in October.
Then, September brings us a server shutdown for WWE 2K24, October will mark the end of online servers for Madden 22 and Rust: Console Edition (on Xbox One), and both FIFA 23 and NBA 2K24 will be going offline in December. There’s probably quite a lot more to come as well – announcements are often made out of the blue about these things!
With that in mind, we’re going to keep an eye out during July and August for any further Xbox server closures, and we’ll update this post if we come across them. For now, the list isn’t looking too bad at all for the next couple of months.
